KEX file.įirst of all, there is the hierarchy, which must be saved in the generated. KEX converter tool needs to generate a correct. 3DS files out of their own program based file format. A lot of free 3D editors are able to generate. It is manly the converter tool, which is only able to handle correctly generated. The problem is not the usage of other editors. To get a 3d model from any editor you use to a G3 ready to import. ![]() Perhaps a moderator could make it "sticky" in the designers corner. I've mentioned it now several times in this forum. Just about ready to take a crowbar to my $4K Dell! It's just an UberMoth sort of project that a buddy of mine drew up and I was trying to import into G3 to see how it would fly before building molds to make real composite planes.īTW, I also tried the 3DS to KEX converter with Rhino in several different ways and couldn't get it to work either. For now I guess I'm going to give up since I don't really have anything all that great to post anyway. I'm sure I'm missing something simple or doing something in the wrong order. I realize this is sort of like giving a harcut over the phone and I do appreciate the help, but I think this is over my head. I did a restart on the computer and still no export function. I removed the files and then I simply tried drag and drop of the file in the folder. I do have 3dsMax8 in the 30 day trial version (maybe it's different than the full version?) VERY frustrating! How the heck do you guys do it. ![]() I (like many) am using the 30 day trial software so I don't know if I still need to register or if it will work. Then in the fine print while installing it there was more text that I am suppose to check as well as the software is suppose to be registered. I also downloaded the 'tools' which apparetently was not designed for Max8 but "may" work with it. Do I manually add it or am I still doing something wrong. It only has the first part up to plugin but doesn't contain the KE. ![]() I think I found the plugin file that I'm suppose to check but it does NOT look like the text posted here. I tried dropping the KEX converter into the plug-in folder but that too failed. Ok, this sucks! I tried to use Rhino and the KEX converter but it apparently didn't take.
